Elder Care in Okemos MI
May is National Hamburger Month, the perfect opportunity for you to bring your senior out into the fresh air and enjoy some quality time with the rest of your family having a cookout. While you could grab a few pounds of ground beef or some pre-made patties in order to make hamburgers for your cookout, trying something new is a great way to not only make your meal more interesting and delicious, but also to keep up with your elder care goal of giving your parent exceptional nutrition.
This recipe trades the beef for turkey, but bumps up the flavor with ingredients reminiscent of a club sandwich. Make your burger "authentic" by toasting the bread.
What You Will Need
- 6 slices of center cut bacon
- 2 pounds of ground turkey breast
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 small onion
- 2 plum tomatoes
- Bibb lettuce

- Remove the bacon and drain it on the paper towels
- When drained and cooled, chop the bacon and set aside

- Mix, by hand, the ingredients in the bowl and begin to form patties
- Form 8 patties about 3 inches wide

- Process until it becomes a thick but smooth sauce
- If not using slider buns, use the cookie cutter to cut rounds out of the bread and discard the crusts
